"Hannah was a chef at Suryalila for one year. She has the loveliest energy and the brightest smile. Her subtle flavouring was perfect and her attention to detail exquisite. We will always miss her delicious contributions to our wonderful kitchen." Vidya Heisel, CEO at Suryalila Yoga Retreat, Spain
"Last summer my daughter and I traveled from Southern California to Cork for an ancestral singing retreat in which we were blessed to receive Hannah's culinary gifts. The retreat was attended by fifteen guests and Hannah prepared all our meals. We shared a large country home with an open kitchen, allowing us to smell, see and hear Hannah's magic as she skillfully and lovingly cooked for the group. Hannah was never rushed while cooking but always easefully organized and her meals were beautifully presented. It was clear that any kitchen Hannah enters she makes her own not out of force or will but because kitchens seemed to be a place of refuge for her or rather an open studio in which she creates.I remember savouring and feeling nourished by many dishes she made, especially a butternut squash soup and homemade jams. The mark of a truly gifted chef is that they are generous, cooking not to impress but rather to delight and nourish others with the meals they prepare; Hannah is such a chef. She is also personable, curious and to this American, her Irish eyes were always smiling. When I returned home I not only missed Hannah's delicious meals but her generous and loving spirit. If one has the chance to work with this marvellous chef I would relish the opportunity!" - Holly W. Hall, Southern California
Ode to Hannah
"Weavers and wanderers wait
Breath baited
Waiting for the next expression of sweet and savoury, like a lullaby played from the heart of our songstress chef. Knives drop beats as fires rise, searing melodies, like recipes for the ears and aromatic tears.
She whips them up like chia pudding
And… in a moment of crescendo, buds burst with pleasure
Each morsel, a note, bouncing playfully within the acoustics of our mouths,
Forming sweet, savoury, salty, tangy, and bitter harmonies
A bite oxymoronie
Like cacao melting into coconut cream and pecan perfection
Our exquisite Hannah confection ❤️" Veronica Desoyza
